Good bye to SD analogs cameras!
Hello everyone!
I am ready to throw out all of my customers SD analog cameras!
You know the expression "and don't let the door hit you on the way out"!
The true answers, and questions about HDCCTV will revolve around cost factors. If you cannot replace the customer's cabling, and they cannot migrate to IP megapixal cameras, then HDCCTV will be a large revenue stream for your company!
This will be a boon to many mom n pop video surveillance companies that have never learned more then just networking a DVR to a router.
Will the IP megapixal market "fight" the HDCCTV market to win market dominance?
I look forward to pulling some cameras off of some building here in the near future!
It's the era, the new technology!

Indeed a cost factor will dominate the popularity of HDcctv over IP, however, the worlds analog cctv system population far outnumbers that of IP systems. Customers are as mentioned above, weary of IP technology and the understanding of video on an IT level.
HDcctv will be very welcomed in the UK, as I can foresee customers utilising existing Coax cables to gain 720p or 1080p quality. If it means upgrading cameras and a DVR to get that type of quality, over new IP cameras, private security Network, Servers etc etc, it is without a doubt an advantage to use HDcctv.
I saw the chief Security Manager of a world reknowned Museum this morning regarding an IP system solution, and although we are still looking at an IP system, the chief of Security wanted me to email him the web link of hdcctv.org immediately, so he can be prepared for future upgrades and which option to use.More over, you could see the Pound Sterling saving in his eyes, as the Museum has existing Coax cameras and recabling an private ethernet system is not cost effective.
Although early days, I firmly believe that the HDcctv topic will gain huge by IFSEC 2010 and manufacturers better be prepared to the many questions that will be put forward from interested parties, who are aware of hdcctv's development
In terms of cost of HDcctv cameras and HDcctv capable DVR's , I again believe that it will take time, like all new technologies to take off. The advantage that HDcctv will have over IP , is that the general cctv installers will easily relate to hdcctv technology over that of IP.
Having an installer comfortable with a technology and migrating from SSD analogs to HD analogs will be very easy.
Try and retrain a conventional cctv analog installer to IP and see what success rate you would have here against training on hdcctv ?
Last but not least, the sooner I can have my hands on a hdcctv camera and a 1080p DVR to assess the happier I will be in the knowledge that we will see a tremendous upturn in business in these hard times.
Kind Regards
JB
I welcome these positive comments about HDcctv.
About 11 manufacturers will be showing HDcctv products at ISC West this month.
