HDcctv Specification
The HDcctv Specification comprises a suite of standards documents developed by the HDcctv AllianceTM Technical Committee. These documents specify operational requirements and compliance levels for HDcctv systems from "glass-to-glass" (camera to display).
The purpose of any standardisation and compliance process is to ensure "interroperabilty" of products, components and systems designed and tested in compliance with the standard. Equipment displaying the HDcctv logo - developed by HDcctv adoptor companies - is your assurance of a compliant product or system that will provide a "plug-and-play" digital high-definition cctv experience for system installers and security professionals alike.
The HDcctv Alliance technical committee is currently developing version 1.0 of the Specification with a planned release in September 2009. The full suite of standards documents within this version of the specification will be avaialable free-of-charge to all Adoptor and Voting members of the HDcctv Alliance. Any subsequent updates to any of the documents within the document suite will also be made available to Adoptor and Voting members of good standing at time of publication.
The first part of the document suite - S0001 - Interface Standards for the transmission of Video, Audio and Metadata over the HDcctv Serial Digital Interface - will be freely avaialble to all members including affiliate members of the alliance.
S0001 provides a general overview of the HDcctv Alliance Standards documents and compliance levels. This document will be updated before each major release of the HDcctv Specification and will be issued free-of-charge to all members.
For Affiliate members who wish to obtain a full undertanding of the operational requirements and compliance test limits of the HDcctv system, then the complete standards document suite is available at an additional charge. The document suite may be purchased as a complete package or individual standards within the document suite may also be purchased individually.
The following diagram shows in graphical form the HDcctv Specification standards document suite that is currently in development within the HDcctv Alliance Technical Committee. The documents highlighted in Yellow illustrate the HDcctv system capabilities that will be provided in the V1.0 Specification release in September.
All other standards documents and the additional capabilities they define are currently in planning for future releases of the HDcctv Specification.

The HDcctv Alliance maintains an open and collaborative policy to the development of it's specifications and standards. V1.0 of the HDcctv Specification and Standards documents are being developed by the founding members of the HDcctv Alliance. Active participation in the Technical Committee from organisations at the Adopter and Voting member level is encouraged.
